 Sharper is not better!!

Did you know that Sharper is not better?

Funny isn't it,  I always thought that with darts you want them as sharp as you can get them.  The Sharper the Dart the better the dart would penetrate the dart board and the more success you would have with the dart sticking.

But it is not so.

You actually should have your dart a little blunt.  Not a bent flat end,  but a little blunt on the end. So it is more rounded, not pointed.

Also you dart should be free of rust, and should be clean.  It is worth cleaning the points of the dart, the same as it is worth cleaning the barrel of the dart.

The cleaner the point the better the chances of having no bounce outs.  And the cleaner the barrel of the dart the better the chances of having better grip and not have the dart slip in your fingers.  (but I digress).

So there is it, make sure you dart point is rounded not pointed.  the pointer and sharper the more the chance of having the dart bounce out.
