The reason we are harping on about this is that it is very
important and is the number one thing that most people have wrong with
their game. You must have a stable platform from which to
launch the dart. If you want to improve you game make sure
this is correct, right and repeatable.
To Sum all that up.
here's what we got.
Get that stance right!!! OK OK I'll stop nagging on that one
now.
The Grip. really what ever you feel comfortable with.
Most people use the pencil grip. And this is fine.
However a couple of points.
Make sure the dart is pointed at the board. If the Dart is
wobbling in the air the chances of the point going exactly where you
want it is far less.
So none of that side on rubbish, or the point the flight at the board,
it just that rubbish.
The grip should be firm but not tight, the point
should be pointing at the board. The release
should be smooth. The dart should fly smooth and
evenly into the board. The smoother the better.
So if your grip is to tight the release is lengthened.
If your grip is too loose the grip is less repeatable.
So have whatever grip you feel comfortable with.
The most common is the pencil grip. Just like holding a
pencil.
The more even and easier the grip is to repeat the more your shots will
be repeatable.
