Darts Games 01
x01, the most popular
The x01 game is so called because the darter needs to score exactly,
the number of points ending in x01. i.e 501, 301, 601,801 etc.
The game is played with each player throwing 3 darts. Darts must land
inside the scoring area and their point value is determined by the wire
separator no the color hit.
Darts that bounce out are not counted and may not be re thrown.
At the start of the game each player starts with x01 and must count
backwards to 0. (we will use 501, as it is the most common for
singles)
To start, toss a coin or shoot for the bull. Closest to the bull goes first.
Players simply total their score and count back towards 0. The
difficulty in x01 is the player must end (go out) with a double.
The small bulls eye is classed as a double (double the bigger bullseye).
Traditionally it is not necessary to start with a double although some people play this way.
If you end up on one, you need to bust, go below 0, this will end your
turn and your score resets back to what it was before that series of
throws.
Often 301 is played with having to start with a double, as it is usually a quicker game.
This can be played individually or in teams, 2, 3, 4 whatever.
301 freeze rule: a player can be frozen out of wining if their score is
not equal to or lower than that of the combined opponents scores.
